How Our Puppy Waitlist Works

At Oakover Retrievers, we aim to make the process as transparent, fair, and simple as possible for all families.

Step 1 – Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

You can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) at any time through our website or RightPaw at no cost.

Your EOI remains active for 12 months, allowing you to be considered for upcoming litters without committing to a specific puppy.

Step 2 – Planned Litters

Once a sire and dam have been carefully selected, all families with an active EOI will receive an email or RightPaw message with the following details:

  • The parents of the litter

  • Health testing information

  • Expected due date

  • Estimated go-home date

This gives you the opportunity to review the pairing and decide if you’d like to be considered.
If you’re interested, simply reply to confirm.

Step 3 – Priority Waitlist

Once pregnancy is confirmed via ultrasound, everyone who has expressed interest will be notified via email and text message that the Priority Waitlist is open.

To secure a place on the waitlist, you must respond and confirm your position.
Please note: positions are not held without a commitment fee.

Initial Priority Waitlist Allocation:

  • 💗 2 Female positions

  • 💙 2 Male positions

  • 💛 2 Either (male or female) positions

Commitment Fee

A $100 non-refundable commitment fee is required to secure your position on the Priority Waitlist.

This fee:

  • Secures your place for that specific litter

  • Is deducted from the $1,000 puppy reservation fee (payable once puppies are born)

  • Will be refunded or transferred to another litter if:

    • There are not enough puppies born, or

    • Your preferred gender is unavailable

If More Puppies Are Born

If a litter has more puppies than the initial Priority Waitlist covers, those additional puppies will first be offered to families with an active EOI before being advertised publicly.
